Our archival collection, spanning over 4500 linear metres, is available to the general public as well as to staff and students of the University.
The Archive Collection is managed as three distinct parts, which we've named University Records, State Archives, and Regional Records. These divisions reflect our three focus areas:
A percentage of the Collection is now described within our online database. We are progressively adding more collections to the database every week so please check back regularly. We strongly encourage you to contact our Reference Archivist about your research in case what you're looking for is not yet online.
Begin your research by searching AtoM, our online database of archival records. Some records are digitised and can be viewed online. Other records will require a visit to our Search Room in Wagga Wagga.
Our Search Room has a number of useful resources available for family history and local history research, including the Archives Resource Kit, various regional newspapers and a small library of local history books.
We act on behalf of the Page Research Centre Library as the repository for a significant collection of archives and records created by the National Party and its precursor organisations - the Australian Country Party and the National Country Party.
Our Digital Galleries showcase just a few of our archival collections. Our Flickr albums include photographs from educational institutions such as the Orange Agricultural College, the Wagga Experiment Farm, Wagga Agricultural College and the Wagga Wagga Teachers' College. Our online database, AtoM, is also a repository of digitised images and documents.
'On Record' contains a wealth of stories from the Regional Archives since 2013. The blog has news on past archival exhibitions, funny stories from the local papers of bygone days, and special highlights of our favourite items and collections.
Our Guides to State Archives held at the Regional Archives can be a useful tool for browsing the government agency records held in our repositories. As Regional Archive Centre for Museums of History NSW, we provide access to state archives created within the Riverina and Murray regions of NSW.
