The Charles Sturt University Regional Archives and University Art Collection is a combined-function repository at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.

Whilst we serve the University, its staff and students, our collections and advice are also available to the general public. Anyone with an interest in Australian art or regional history is welcome to visit us or contact one of our staff.

We have been collecting archival material from the Riverina and Murray regions of NSW since 1973 and the Archive Collection now extends to over 4500 linear metres. The Art Collection has been officially curated since 1996, which brought together a quality collection of twentieth century Australian artworks from the University's many precursor institutions. Much of the Art Collection is currently on display throughout the University's campuses.

Archival collection

Our archival collection spans over 4500 linear meters and is managed as four distinct parts: University Records, State Archives, Regional Records, and The Page Research Centre Collection. We also have a small library of genealogical resources which includes the NSW Archives Resource Kit, local histories and directories, and a select local newspaper collection.

Art collection

The Charles Sturt University Art Collection has been professionally curated for many years and has grown to have a strong focus on quality twentieth century Australian art. Much of the collection is on display throughout the many campuses of the University.

Scholarships

The Charles Sturt University Regional Archives facilitates a number of university student scholarships, with the aim of contributing to local historical knowledge and to help give information studies students some hands-on archival experience. Past scholarship reports are published on our website and cover a wide breadth of historical topics gleaned from our collections.
