Visiting Wammarra on Wednesday from 1:30pm to 3:00pm I grew up on Wiradjuri Country in a small town called Mandurama between Bathurst and Cowra in the central west of NSW My first place of tertiary study and work as a teenager was Charles Sturt University, where I studied education and posted letters to alumni members who had finished their degree and moved on to bright new things. After many years living in different places and working in different industries I have come full circle back to Charles Sturt – the university where I first studied and worked, met my future husband, and now study and work again! I started working in the library here over 10 years ago, which opened the world of information literacy and technology up to me. The power these new insights offered me felt like sorcery of the best kind, and the enjoyment I get from sharing these insights with patrons in my library is palpable. Showing people how they can investigate topics, research theories, evaluate information and achieve great marks is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had, and knowing I’m changing the future of the next generation, in a small way, is a great feeling. Being impactful, inclusive, inspiring and insightful are the core values of my workplace, and I strive to achieve these values in the Charles Sturt Library every day - feel free to drop in and see me or contact me via email if you need help!Campus library advisors
