Avoiding fines

How to avoid library fines

  1. Keep track of your due dates
  2. Renew your loans before they are overdue by accessing your library record in Primo Search
  3. Pay attention to courtesy, overdue and recall notices

Recall notices

Recall notices will be issued if any items you have on loan have been requested and need to be returned sooner than the due date.

If an item you have borrowed has been requested by another user, you will receive a recall notice. Regardless of the original due date, recalled items must be returned by the due date of the recall notice.

Fines of $5 per day apply to recalled items not returned by the new due date in addition to standard overdue charges. Check your library record in Primo Search regularly for changes to due dates.

Paying fines

Fines will appear on your CSU Financial Statement and there are a number of payment methods available to you.

If you do not pay any outstanding fines, CSU will be unable to release the results of any subjects you are studying. See financial information for students at CSU for more information.

Please Note: Borrowing privileges will be suspended once fines reach $100.
