Learning activities and assessments

Strategies and resources to strengthen your students’ information and digital literacies.

Overview

Incorporate information, digital and AI literacies into your subject through engaging activities and authentic assessments.

Core literacies for student success

The capabilities of the Information & Digital Literacies Graduate Learning Outcome (GLO) are emphasised by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), TEQSA’s Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF), and discipline accreditation standards. Integrating information, digital, and AI literacies into learning activities and assessments strengthens academic integrity, problem-solving, critical thinking, lifelong learning, and graduate employability.

By developing these literacies, students learn to:

  • Find, evaluate, and use information with confidence and ethical awareness.
  • Use digital tools effectively and adapt to new and emerging technologies.
  • Understand and apply AI responsibly, including evaluating tools and outputs for bias, privacy, and accuracy.

Authentic assessments

We provide advice and assessment task ideas that embed and assess these literacies in authentic, discipline-relevant contexts.
