Girinyalanha Aboriginal Nature and Bioscience Park

Girinyalanha (Giri-nya-la-nha) park was opened in 2016 and developed in partnership with the Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council on degraded remnant open forest on Orange campus.

This park includes a ‘Yarning Circle’ and three paths, named after three rivers that surround Wiradjuri land: the Wambool (Macquarie River) the Kalare (Lachlan River) and the Murrumbidjeri (Murrumbidgee River).

Along the paths are planted local native species including some that were traditionally important for food, fabrication and medicinal uses. This site has been used over the years to host aboriginal cultural ceremonies and other learning experiences.
