Creating links to resources

Use these guides to create persistent links to Charles Sturt's electronic resources. Persistent links are stable URLs that will authenticate students and give them access to their subject's resources.

Copying and pasting URLs from your web browser's address bar may result in links that do not work or students unable to access the resource due to paywalls.

To note, Leganto is the preferred method of sharing resources with students. Learn more about using Leganto by visiting the Using Leganto guide.

Links to articles, for which you can access the full text, can be created using the DOI number. If you would like to learn more about the DOI system then please visit the DOI.org website. If you have the DOI for an article, you can use it to create a link to the electronic copy of the article, which can then be used in Charles Sturt LMS, Brightspace.

To create a link to a DOI article:

  1. Type the DOI number into the DOI box below (only enter the last part of the link beginning with the number 10; for example, 10.1007/s11042-023-17928-9).
  2. Click "Create Link".
  3. Your complete link will appear in the "Complete Link" box. If you want to test the complete link to make sure it works, click "Test Link", otherwise, copy the link and paste it into your document or webpage.
